I'm opening this thread with the intent to encourage discussion of your favorite unfinished M/L fanfics.

How far back shall we look?

Okay, I’ll start this with a pretty recent one: Infected by FairlyMorgana Well-written, great characterization, getting M/L together in a believable way and even mixing in the prospect of a future Eyes Only mission …. and NO UPDATES for almost a year… Does that count as unfinished? How far back shall we look? Good question. And here’s another one: How much time must have passed since the last update to consider a story as unfinished?

If a fanfic hasn't been updated with no word from the author in six months, let's say for now.

I may not read them - but I collect them. ;D I am a great collector of Dark Angel fan fic. Max and Logan, of course. Here's a couple that will probably never be finished but I'll keep 'em anyway. Back To Right by Aenignatis - July 8th, 2005 Nothing's For Free by Darkangel81 - March 11th, 2005

And I keep saying i'm going to start collecting my faves, but I never get around to it... I dread waking up one sunny morning and finding the plug pulled at FFN... (so I guess I'd better not pick on you too badly, seeing as you'll be the one with the largest M/L collection around!)

Come What May by Nathaly
no ending and it stops with a CLIFF! [not to mention it needs major betaing] but I still love some of the imagery

mariAfter 20 chapters, all posted in June through August 2005, I couldn't dump it. I decided to assume it was completed and into my archive it crept, hoping all the legitimately completed stories wouldn't scream too loudly. Come What May by NathalyI know what you mean about that story. This fic was one of 'em that sent me over the edge. No more reading incomplete stories, except for Peking Noodle's.I recently deleted Nathaly's three DA fics from my ess-aich-eye-tee * archive. It finally hit me that she wasn't returning. "Am I being too negative - it's only been since August 2002," She said in a sarcastic tone. * Finally found a way to get around those #&%@ censors. ;D

I decided to assume it was completed At least it stops at some kind of ending point and not with a cliffhanger But still, would love to see what the author had in mind for M/L… (Hm, who had this ability of getting into other people’s heads? ::)Mia?) And funny, I remember being frustrated by unfinished fics so often, but now that there’s a thread for griping about exactly that, I can’t remember any… (Maybe that’s what they call repression ) And I admire your patience Aerie. I could never wait with reading until a fic is finished.

Peking Noodle is still one of my favorite DA writers and I really enjoyed her first fic "Reaching For The Moon" and I think that it is unfortunate that that her sequel "The Moon Is Not Enough" hasn't been completed. Chapter 38

I am another frustated fan of Peking Noodle, who would dearly love to see her return to finish her story The Moon is Not Enough. There is another story that was left unfinished by idlehands 452 that I was enjoying reading called Calamity Cruise which was last updated in July 2005. You will no doubt have noticed that this author has surfaced occassionly with reviews related to other stories posted on FFnet, but absolutely no action on the Cruise story.
