"NCIS" Tony DiNozzo Falls In Virtual Love Special Agent Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) hasn't had a serious romance on "NCIS" since his split with Dr. Jeanne Benoit, daughter of Le Grenouille. But that may be about to change on tonight's episode of "NCIS" when DiNozzo finds himself captivated by a woman he's never met, while investigating the murder of her brother. On tonight's episode, Tony has had a date with an attractive barista, who changes her status on her social network page to "committed relationship," following one date with him, but that seems all wrong to him. "I get it," Michael tells ET. "She had a date with Tony. I am sure it was fantastic. She fell in love, but Tony is not ready for that. Then, Tony, in the next instance, falls head over heels for this other girl in a virtual way because he doesn't meet her until the end of the program. That is the lovely Ashley Scott, who I worked with on 'Dark Angel.'" Gibbs (Mark Harmon) gets concerned when Tony goes online to investigate the murder and becomes captivated by this woman he has never met that Tony "may be obsessed with [her]." In real life, social networking is not Michael's thing. "I feel like my Tweet could get punked and then I'd get Facebooked," he jokes. The "Obsession" episode of "NCIS" airs tonight at 8 p.m. on CBS. www.etonline.com/news/2010/05/86721/index.html

Different than their normal eps, a MW tour d' force... ;D ;D All kinds of good stuff. (Faves: the movie reference from Ziva this time, not Tony ... the final scene with the newly revealed <right?> Rule 10...) And the teaser for next week makes it clear the guesses about the finale are right...

Haven't seen it yet am looking forward to it after shywriters recommendation A little off topic but read this on Jessica's twitter page but am a little confused, Jessica replied to someone else's comment on Ashley Scott's NCIS appearence. twitter.com/jessicaalbaendupjaded asha's on this episode of ncis. how many guest stars until they try to get @jessicaalba on? jessicaalba RT @endupjaded: asha's on this episode of ncis. how many guest stars until they try to get @jessicaalba on?m$ endupjaded @jessicaalba and i thought it was a funny coincidence that so many dark angel alumni have been on ncis. i really meant no harm! endupjaded @jessicaalba oh my god! i'm so sorry, i didn't mean to sound disrespectful if that's how i came across. i'm a huge fan of you and dark angel So what does m$ mean? internet slang?

I've no idea I don't speak twitteresse.
I actually thought I was going to hate this episode but I actually kinda liked it. Tony's rather stupid and childish obsession aside I liked a lot of what happened. In particular the most ambiguous Tiva moment in the shows history. More than that though was the bit at the end where Tony and Gibbs talk in his basement.

Million dollars? JA should watch what she tweets. The tweeter apologized and although I have no idea what m$ means I thought JA came off sounding snarky.

I liked it too. It held my attention right through. I think it worked because everyone had 'work' to do and they all chipped in to solving the case. Please explain. Not being a Tivaette I often don't 'see' the moments as clearly as others might.

Million dollars makes since, but then I think the other person must have misunderstood because I don't really think that answer shows JA is mad or anything. I mean it's a little snarky but this is the internet it's to be expected. I was confused by the whole thing , not knowing what "m$" and by the apologies from the other poster. I mean there was nothing really to apologize for and I think if JA had actually been mad/upset she wouldn't have bothered commenting at all.

The theme of 'be careful what you tweet' is hot in the press down here at the moment. A journalist (apparently - haven't bothered to find out actually what was tweeted) tweeted some disparaging comments about Bindi Urwin and Rove at our TV Logie awards night. She's since been sacked. She maintains that her tweets were taken out of context and meant to be humorous.
I translated JA's response as: Not in a billion years. You'd have to pay me a truck load of money before I'd stoop that low.
That's right. I read all of that in just 'm$'!
(Edit: in case that was confusing, I meant that JA should be careful what she tweets, not the person who made the casting comment)

I translated JA's response as: Not in a billion years. You'd have to pay me a truck load of money before I'd stoop that low. Yeah I agree with that until "before I'd stoop that low" I think there is a line between saying she would never do the show and saying the show is cr@p and I don't see the line being crossed here. I have now seen the ep. I was really not feeling it for most of the episode but the last 10 minutes saved it for me. I liked Weatherly's performance but I just don't buy the Dinozzo character becoming that obsessed with a woman he had never met. The lawyer chick apparently dating Gibbs and then calling him "Mr. Gibbs" in private creeps me out

I liked Weatherly's performance but I just don't buy the Dinozzo character becoming that obsessed with a woman he had never met. You and almost everyone here & on special Ops, I think, but I bought it and confirmed that I bought it by watching it again tonight with Prof Shy, who missed it last night: they established Tony's being a 'fan' from the first mention of the woman's name -- we can assume he'd watched her reporting and thought she was hot, probably followed her for a few years. Like, maybe, some here who know more than MW or JA than the rest of the world? And then as the case started becoming more convoluted, filled with coincidences (which always bugs Gibbs, so why not Tony?), he started getting obsessed, yeah -- but as Ziva pointed out, it was straight out of '50s noir, like "Laura" or "Vertigo" -- I mean, not only did the music fit through out, but a *sax* player playing smoky, dirty sex-sax in the middle of a sunny afternoon? They were channeling old movies, just perfect for Tony, not just music but the *look* of his scenes, dark & edgy, and turning it into the sort of "hooked by the dame" movies he probably had memorized. But like you, I loved the ending, the new relationship they're showing between Gibbs & DiNozzo. Way cool. The lawyer chick apparently dating Gibbs and then calling him "Mr. Gibbs" in private creeps me out She just creeps me out, period -- from her first appearance and all thru.

Not saying that she wouldn't work on TV again, just that she should be careful what she tweets. When you're having a face to face conversation with someone you can read body language and clarify what you're saying. If you're being interviewed you can always say that you were misquoted. When you self-tweet and what you say is misunderstood, you're scr**ed.
Usually when someone says 'if you pay me a million dollars' (assuming that's what m$ means) it refers to the option of last resort.
