Looks like I have returned to the fold at just the right time. If I was here a week earlier I wouldn't have been able to laugh at your banner dzero.
Strange movie.
I also finally caught up with Star Trek (yes I know my New Year's resolution should be to see more 'current' movies, but that would be an unrealistic goal), unfortunately I think my expectations prior to watching it were too high so I thought it was good but not great.

Ah... just saw the Atlas Shrugged trailer and really want to see it -- love the look of it, but my little liberal heart admits to serious trepidation. I would have loved to see this movie in the 80s or 90s, when Ayn Rand's uber-conservative rants were just sort of a quaint throwback. These days ... I worry that people will take it as an anthem. Oh, well. In a vacuum, the story is still an intensely interesting whodunit, and the trailer makes it look as if they'll make the movie be one too -- and though I hate the idea of a 3 parter and the wait, it may allow them to tell the full story. Has anyone heard the scoop on whether it's supposed to be any good? (Funny, though: Dr. Shy mentioned there was an interview with someone from the movie, and an interviewer asked how they planned to handle the 60-plus page soliloquy near the end of the book from the protagonist. I guess they didn't exactly have an answer.) Oh, and a 2-degrees of NCIS sort of thing: the major character James Taggart is being played by the actor who died on Ziva, Lt. Roy Sanders (Matthew Marsden). One assumes his hair won't fall out in the movie. Suppose he'll have a bright orange hat in this, too? Another amusing thought: in my last job, maybe 10 yrs ago, my partner & I had been talking about the book and for whatever reason decided to e-mail everyone in our 25 person office "Question of the week: Who is John Galt?" Only one was close ("wasn't he a character in a book or something?") At least with all the trailers likely to be on TV soon, we'll get closer answers!
