Thanks for the pix here and on your shared board, Wave-- found this here... clickable...and as much as I don't want to add to all the speculation, look at this one: what's wrong with this picture? (well, other than the fact that Tony & Ziva are dressed for southern Cal & Gibbs looks like it's November in Vermont... ) ...it's GIBBS in So Cal! (we know it's SoCal because 1) They have very heavy-handedly made sure we all know that Asst Dir Vance is based in SoCal -- and he's there too. 2) There's lots of sand 3) Tony has his wacky Magnum shirt on.) And since we know that Tony & Ziva go to SoCal with the Director for a funeral, *something* happened that was big enough to get Gibbs out there too. I don't suppose ... ? Nah.

Always bring a jacket, a little tip from me to you . Are we speculating on a death in the season ender? I was unaware of this rumor until I saw it mentioned on another site today with a pretty good theory on the who? and the why? but not the how?

It can get surprisingly chilly if you are right on the beach. Always bring a jacket, a little tip from me to you . Very true! But in the photo, Gibbs was all dressed up for a New England fall night's hayride, but Tony was still being Magnum wannabe. (So Gibbs really does have ice water in his veins?) My response is late so you probably know already-- but yep, they've publicized a death among one of the "team" (one of the noiser critics/ TV blog (?) writers has said it will be one of the main 7). As far as all the theories & speculation beyond that, most seem pretty lame, full of assumptions (primarily based on the idea that the writers would be consistent, that any foreshadowing would actually be followed up ... all the sort of speculation that is pointless with NCIS, given the show's track record of throwing out little plot teasers that they never follow through...) I have a theory (yes, this is me NOT obsessing ) but nothing to show that it is possible: I was wondering if we'd learn after whomever dies that (like Sasha Alexander) the person wanted out of the show. With that, it occurred to me that Bellasario left last year with the 'parting gift' that he'd be creating new show(s). I then wondered if he had developed something and offered one of the NCIS cast a change for a new/juicier/meatier role...? Not a bad theory, but in googling Don B., I came up with nothing more recent than his hype about leaving last year. So this theory is probably as lame as all the others, but I wanted to post this here NOW so if by any chance I was right, I would have proof that I actually thought of it before it happened! ;D Actually, I hope I'm wrong: apparently Don is a MW fan too, so I could see him developing something & putting MW in it. Or McGee is his step-son (or some family connection) so he might be looking out for the family dynasty, too... Ugh. No, I'm not obsessing. ~ ~

^^^ LOL that is a lot of speculation for someone who is too chicken to watch the finale? ;D . Or McGee is his step-son (or some family connection) so he might be looking out for the family dynasty, too... This is the theory I heard. Only it was more McGee wanting off now that his his stepfather was fired. No idea if it's true obviously, but imagine how happy it would make Aerie.

^^^ LOL that is a lot of speculation for someone who is too chicken to watch the finale? ;D Partly chicken, but mostly can't take the pressure... same reason the month of March was incredibly stressful, back in the day of IU's glory; each tournament game the Hoosiers would win would be awesome, but agonizing until it was a sure win. (whoever says that close games are 'exciting' can't possibly be a True Fan... Same here: why is it 'exciting' to not only have to learn a favorite actor/character is leaving, but have to wait through a bunch of false trails & teasers to get there? : Oh, really? Cool! Hadn't seen the speculation, just assuming that even T-NCIS-PTB weren't so stupid as to break up the core team, as the show is ever-gaining in popularity, unless someone wanted out. They really let McGee come into his own the past couple seasons; I'd hate to see him go but unless it's Jenny, would rather it be McG than any of the other main characters. Still, one of my favorite things that they did in the brief time Gibbs was off in Mexico having an affair with Franks (he really liked it when he called him "Probie") for his R & R was to have not only Tony affecting a bunch of Gibbsisms, but that they had McGee become more Tony-like -- at least dressing more casually/hipper, relaxing... Then I'll be her dance partner, at least to have MW still around ...

When I first read that another series regular was going to be killed off I thought that it probably wouldn't be McGee or Gibbs because I think if Mark wanted off of "NCIS" that it would've happened last season, but, DPB left and that solved the problem there. I like McGee and think that he has been allowed to grow and mature since he's become a series regular and I just couldn't see a huge shake up like it's been suggested if he were the one leaving. I also think that it's clear that the writers like both Tony and Ziva separately and together, but, I think that the odd person out is Jenny and I think that there's been some possible foreshadowing that she's the one leaving with one instance being the introduction of the assistant NCIS director who we never saw or knew anything about before this season.

Agreed -- and the fact that MH said in an interview that he'll be in S6 solidifies it for me -- not that I know the guy, just suspect that not many actors in his position would just lie about it, so I'm trusting he's being straight with us. Me too; he's actually done some fairly subtle shifting around in his character while still being McGee -- and what will they do without a computer expert who's also a field agent? It would be awkward plot-wise to replace him with someone with those skills, but they've come to depend on that input. (may I just point out here that if they could use someone inside & just communicate by phone with computer guy but non-field agent, Tony has this cousin... )It's certainly true that most of the speculation is that it's Jenny-- but I suspect that's 75-90% wishful thinking (mine certainly included.) Maybe on other shows you can trust foreshadowing, and maybe here they'll actually follow up on the plot bunnies they've released along the way. But the show's history has been to build up huge suspense in the teasers to have it be nothing, and to have NO warning at all when they killed Kate. They seem to take an evil glee in fooling us all. Given that, I could see it being nearly any one of them other than MH, and am leaning toward the thought (except for Jenny) that the person wanted to leave. Jenny, they may have just decided that her plot lines didn't work out... Any which way, I'll be reading about it before seeing it (still holding to that plan. We'll see if I make good on it -- of course, if I'm pigging out at some great restaurant across town from my hotel TV, I may not have a choice...) Anyone know when CBS posts their eps? Right after they're seen on the west coast, by any chance? ;D)

I wasn't surprised at all that Sasha Alexander wanted out of NCIS after there was a McGee centric episode before Kate ever got hers and so I wasn't fooled by the teasers. I also wasn't real surprised by the fact that Jeanne was the Frog's daughter and that this put Tony in a difficult situation to say the least. I also think that TPTB is probably concerned about their ratings and their show is in a competetive time slot. I also think that if the writers and TPTB wanted to kill Tony off that they could've done it earlier this season when the fake Tony died. I also think that Tony had the opportunity to have his own team and his own possible spin off, but, he declined Jenny's offer. I think that the person whose death would cause the most issues for the NCIS team is the director because of her title and her past with Gibbs, which is something that the writers haven't done much to connect with the present but, perhaps this will change when and after "Judgement Day" airs. New episodes are up a day or so after they originally air.

Count me in with the group who likes how Mcgee has developed. Becoming more mature and confident but still being the same character who was introduced years ago.
If I was a betting man......I'd be putting money on the director. because of how they have handled her character, she has been less involved with the cases this season. And also because of the actress playing her, though not a big star she did have a successful career before NCIS and might not be happy with the small amount of screen time.
