Thanks, tigrou and Shy , you’re the second congratulating. (I guess tigrou can see my birthday because she’s in the same time zone?) And a clone , exactly what I wanted . He’ll have a very good life with all the food around here. (And of course I’ll have to make him exercise then for counterbalance ;D) I just started the celebrating with a piece of pear-walnut cake my mother made (and the great thing today is that I can contradict her rule about not cutting the cake before the guests come with ‘My birthday!’ ;D) and now am building two very shaky towers from all the 33 (I swear they rather look like one hundred ) books from the library under the desk so the sofa is free for people tomorrow and I can immediately start the baking session (cake and pizza) ;D.

[glow=red,2,300]HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARI!!!!![/glow]
I'd give you a clone if I had one, but since I don't I'll just be content imagining yours exercising (shirtless!) ;D
Would you settle for fiction instead?
And if so, would you settle on it a day late, I'm not sure I'll get it ready in time.
Have a wonderful day!

That would be ;D ;D ;D (too tired to search for properly enthusiastic term) and I'd wait for it for however long it takes . PS: In case anyboydy has any great instant ideas for a guy's present - my brother's birthday is today too (and no, we're not twins) - please tell!!! I walked through three shops today and think will settle for cooking...

I know what announcements I'd like to see on the front page...Advance warnings of birthdays because then I wouldn't be caught off guard like I am right now with an empty box.
Umm aside from that... So what would you like in your belated bday box? (Bdays are good inspiration generally ;D, kinda like anticipating a plane ride. ) PS: In case anybody has any great instant ideas for a guy's present - my brother's birthday is today too (and no, we're not twins) - please tell!!! I walked through three shops today and think will settle for cooking... I was about to make fun of you (that whole procrastination thingy) then I realized my sister got her July Bday gifts in Sept and Oct. Oddly enough though, thinking about it, they'd probably suit a boy as well: the Dita Von Teese Burlesque book and a ticket to Evil Dead the Musical. And food is ALWAYS good for males!!!

There's already an announcement of birthdays on DAR's main page/forum, Mia. It doesn't update until the day of the member's birthday though.
I hope that you have a great birthday, Mari.

Thanks Mia, and dzero and ML Fan . The birthday wishes worked, I had such a great day ;D. (And still have, with a piece of blueberry-cheese-crumble-cake ;D) Only the snowing isn't spring-like at all. Umm aside from that... So what would you like in your belated bday box? (Bdays are good inspiration generally ;D, kinda like anticipating a plane ride. ) Can I wish for an update of one of your stories, maybe…? (Though I don’t think it’s a compliment to be compared with a flight by you ) Oddly enough though, thinking about it, they'd probably suit a boy as well: the Dita Von Teese Burlesque book and a ticket to Evil Dead the Musical. And food is ALWAYS good for males!!! I think he would throw something at me and think that I had gone crazy (well, more than usual ;D) if I gave him tickets for a musical… and a Dita Von who what book? The Max clone may have been closer to his wishes, after all he had a Lara-Croft poster in his room for quite some time ;D… but in the end I gave him a gift coupon for amazon, not really original (though I for my part I’m very happy with the one I got from a friend , but then he’s really hard to please for someone with a student’s budget. You’re sooo right about food and males ;D. (But then a friend is going to cook a swabian speciality as a birthday present for me, so I guess it works the other way round too)

Oh dear now I feel bad Seeing as I am about 10 hours ahead of you I should be the official/unofficial pre-birthday announcement poster. But alas as I am always about 2 days late for all of the exciting news, I would be making birthday announcements 1.5 days late Everyone!

But alas as I am always about 2 days late for all of the exciting news, I would be making birthday announcements 1.5 days late Hmmm yes, I suppose technically, me switching my time zone to yours would make just as much sense as that. But that's ALL the way down on the front page. Wonder if I could talk these ProBoards people into setting up a bday alert pm system. Probably not.Can I wish for an update of one of your stories, maybe…? (Though I don’t think it’s a compliment to be compared with a flight by you You were supposed to pick one. And filling me with energy is a good thing, I mean productive is productive even if one of them is a nervous bouncing energy (luckily bdays=plain old energy). Haha it was a musical based on a cult horror flick, the first three rows got sprayed with blood. Probably one of the most 'guy' musicals there have ever been. And she's a burlesque and fetish...person? performer? Point is in theory, that's not a stereotypical gift for a girl. So that would be southwestern German food? What does that consist of?? I need details!!! You know I need all the food details, always! ;D

Mari At last I'm here for a birthday. I've been away on every birthday this year and haven't been able to get into this thread. Something about all the smoke and flames. . . . . . . From the famous novel, in progress, MovesBling gives Logan a lesson in martial artsLogan, get over to the exercise room NOW! Put your arms down like this. And lisa would have a clone, or two, but she's never requested one in the Logan's Angels thread.
I'll check again. Nope.

You were supposed to pick one. (Read: Happy and anticipating ;D)But choosing one is going to be tough (I’m the person who’s taking forever to buy shampoo and such because being over-challenged by the definitely too big assortment ). Hm, how about ‘Deliverance’ (your thread proofs the general demand on this one) , ‘Attempts at Living’ or maybe something in the ‘When Gray was Yellow’ / ‘Ponderings’-world? (Which I was just tempted to start rereading) So that would be southwestern German food? What does that consist of?? I need details!!! You know I need all the food details, always! ;D Rather from middle-south Germany, roughly: Spätzle mit Linsen Linsen are lenses, and Spätzle a special kind of native pasta (Or maybe you have them too? In this case just forget the following). Traditionally they are made by shoving little portions of a rather liquid dough from a piece of wood into boiling water like that: (my grandma could do it really fast)But nowadays it’s mostly done with such a device Being non-Swabian, I’ve never eaten my Spätzle with lenses. (Hey, you asked for the details. Never ask me for details )

As a half-Swabian, I can tell you it's yummy. Looks disgusting, but tastes really good. Especially with hand-made Spätzle.
How did your brother like his present, Mari?

(Which I was just tempted to start rereading) Haha, what part of YOU pick ONE, didn't you get? And I mean one that you want to read next, not what others want to read next since after all this was YOUR bday gift, I mean one day a year to be selfish is a good thing. (But don't pick a When Gray was Yellow fic because I've got nada in my head at the moment, aside from one waaaay in the future). Haha first off, I wish you saw me staring at the screen, repeating to myself, 'lenses?' (which are the glass/plastic that go in eyeglasses here, the glass on cameras or telescopes). Then I'm going, gotta be the beans, gotta be the beans. Thank god for Wikipedia, I doubt we'd ever know what we were talking about if not for that blessed site. Haha and nothing is that special when it's mass produced and sold in grocery stores world-wide. Homemade yes, that's special. Any and all homemade pasta is special. My mother used to get it occasionally when I was little, she never seens get that buying things pre-made in the store will never taste like they did when she was little. Yea I'm pretty sure that part will be good, that's quite common in a lot of different cultures...I'd be more worried about the sausage on top. :-P
