Here's the place for news and discussion about Jessica Alba's movie "The Eye." Alba's violin tortures 'Fantastic' co-stars The "Fantastic Four" heroes have a horrifying new enemy — particularly because she's coming from within their own ranks. "I'm doing a movie called 'The Eye,' " Jessica Alba said recently, standing in her trailer on the Vancouver set of "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer." "I'm learning how to play the violin, and this is what I'm learning." Holding up some sheet music for "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star," Alba said she's been subjecting temporary neighbors Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis and Ioan Gruffudd to her squealing violin as she prepares to play a visually impaired musician in the Tom Cruise-produced remake of the Hong Kong thriller. "I suck," she giggled. "But I'm learning slowly but surely. beloved, torturous violin. In between setups, I come in here and practice." Alba is planning to shoot the flick — about a woman whose eye transplant allows her to see dead people — once her Sue Storm duties wind down. Info from www.mtv.com.

Possible Spoilers SpaceCasting of subsidiary roles is being finalized on Jessica Alba's "The Eye," which has a production start slated for the first week of February. The thriller has Alba as a violinist who regains her sight through a transplant operation after having been blind nearly all her life - only to find that she keeps seeing a terrified little boy and his crying mother in her apartment building, two victims of a murder suicide long before. Here's the link, www.dailynews.com/celebrities/ci_4929108dzero, have you checked out Netflix for the original version of "The Eye?" Perhaps, Netflix may have it.

Over the holidays I was frolicking at some party and a rumor monger told me that Jessica was dropping out of this movie. He bet me $20. so I hope she stays in. My last bet with this bozo was for $100. and I lost. This guy is usually right but he is soooooo annoying with his "I know everything about show biz" attitude I'm hoping he's wrong.

Gambling, huh? Interesting The original version will be playing on IFC twice tomorrow. at 4:20PM and 10:10 PM. Not sure if I want to watch or not , if JA does do the film I'll probably enjoy it more if that's the first time I see the story. On the other hand it will probably be changed so much it won't make a difference .

www.fangoria.com/news_article.php?id=3541January 18: Want to terrorize Jessica Alba? Fango’s New Mexico correspondent Craig W. Chrissinger sent along the following item from an alternative weekly paper in Albuquerque regarding Lionsgate’s redux of THE EYE, the ghost chiller that put the directing Pang Brothers on the map: “THE EYE, a remake of the hit [Asian] horror film, will soon be shooting in Albuquerque with Jessica Alba [pictured] in the lead role. Producers are looking for people to play ‘Shadowy Figures.’ They want androgynous, slender, younger (20-40) males and females of any ethnicity. There are no lines, but actors will be trained in movement; dancers a plus. You must be willing to shave/wax your entire body and head (bald). This involves partial nudity (i.e., nude-style bodysuit) and you may be flown to Los Angeles to have prostetic fittings special-made to cover body parts. Pay is $700+ per day or $2,500+ per week for selected principal SAG roles. Interested? Who wouldn’t be? E-mail photo and contact info along with age, gender, experience and any other pertinent info to: eyecasting@hotmail.com.” Sounds like an opportunity no androgynous, slender fan of horror or Jessica Alba could pass up. The new EYE is being helmed by David Moreau and Xavier Palud of the buzz-building French chiller ILS, a.k.a. THEM

Either way, there doesn't seem to be a lot of time for Jessica to shoot this movie without it overlapping into another project, since she has other projects due for release and the "Fantastic Four 2" reshoots soon too.
