I still cannot get chapter links to show up as only the chapter by itself in blue, I think that I will need detailed and specific directions in this case, because, I am clearly not understanding this process when it's just written with the links and regular and curly brackets. Again, if PMs are easier to explain this process, anyone is welcome to do so.

I understand now in what to do with the links and getting the chapter alone to show up, thanks a bunch, SuperBlonde.

I always have to have the instructions in front of me to do the silly thing. It's not worth it to me. I shall find my instructions and you can compare them, ML Fan. Maybe SuperBlonde has an easier method and you can teach all of us. We should have a thread for teaching newbies and oldies how to do stuff. Many newbies cannot link to an avatar.

I can explain how you can post links so that whatever chapter will show up or perhaps just a simple "Here" for other news and articles. Perhaps you or one of the other mods can open a thread explaining how to link avators in the Newbies thread of DAR, Aerie. I think that's a good idea.

SuperBlonde did a good job of explaining how to get a chapter by itself or perhaps linking an article using the word "Here." The url and the = sign must be used so that the computer knows what to do, then you use the brackets, [] put in the url and = sign, then the link then the chapter number or the "Here" and then another set of [] with /url inside of that Chapter 38

Hi everyone, I'm relatively new both to this fandom and to writing fan fiction. I followed a hint of ML Fan to this board, thanks btw. Currently I'm in the process of posting my first try other at fanfiction.net under the same username as here (yes that was a pretty unsubtle hint, and no I'm not ashamed). To make things worse I'm not a native speaker and therefore never really sure if I'm saying what I want to say. So to cut a long story short, I'm in desperate search of a beta, preferably a bilingual one (German and English) so that the person in question would be abel to understand what I'm actually trying to translate. But I'm thankful for any kind of support. Send me a mail if anyone is interested.

You're welcome for the hint, IandI and welcome to Dark Angel Reflections. Hopefully someone will see your post and be able to help you with translating your fic.

I have a questions for you experienced DA people, and it seems as if this is a good a place as any: Are there "secondary" sources that are generally deemed to be included for genuine canon? Of course, the S1 epsodes (and I suppose, for some out there, S2 ) provide the chronology, bios, & general universe of the show. Please understand that I have NOT yet watched all the shows in their entirety (I never watched the show when it ran, only on DVD, and for some funny reason my DVD player keeps skipping the non-Logan scenes and playing Logan over and over... go figure!) However, for example, as best I can tell, the show never stated in so many words Logan's level of injury--just established it by MW's physical handling of body movement, and the scenes making clear that sensation or feeling was absent prior to his transfusion from Max. However, it was recently pointed out in a FFN review that the level seemed to be T-8, but it appears to me that MW at times played Logan's injury not that high of it's complete. (...is this too picky??? ) I know that a couple paperback novels and other books have been published --do they count? Just like Logan, some of us have a lotta rules--need to know where to find them!! Thanks for any input anyone wants to offer-- ~S~

Kyre's DA site has good transcrips, if that is what you're looking for as far as background information, perhaps this will help. darkangelkyre.8m.net/

I'm not in the medical field but Logan's injury had to be much lower than T-8. I thought I knew all the Logan scenes by heart but I can't remember exactly which eps show him moving in a way that is lower that T-8. The problem here is we all see him as we wish him to be. Many fan fic writers love the idea of Logan crippled, in the chair forever, and hate the exo for that reason. Hmmmm. That way he can never really BE with Max and just stay a romantic figure. He is easier to control in the chair. I love him anyway at all. The best part of "Freak Nation" for me, is Logan jumping on that car and kicking ass in the fight. Woo Hoo, you could hear me cheering all over town. We need to ask our medical expert. She's on hiatus right now but I'll try to reach her. Wait right here. edited to say I'm sitting in my office chair, on wheels, touching my T-8 (ha, and they say it's not good to be skinny), testing it by twisting and turning.

Thanks--transcripts I've found at Kyre's as well as another site. My question was rreally whether or not there are other sources outside the TV transcripts & action that are considered main sources, or if it's all free reign from there? Thanks for the tip, though! ~s~

Thanks for your input!
I'm only tangentially medically knowledgeable about SCI (thru one of my former careers!) but the discussion triggered by suggesting he was T-8 (and not T10) got me thinking about the rules for creating our own additions to what was created in S1.
Actually, I just used that as one example of what is "allowed" by canon & what is not, but I guess the medical/Logan limited issue is an interesting one in itself! Noteworthy point too about how far each fan wants to let Logan off the leash...! I'm with you; I'll take 'im anyway they want to give him to me!! ;D

My question was rreally whether or not there are other sources outside the TV transcripts & action that are considered main sources, or if it's all free reign from there? Well, there is the Eyes Only Informant Booklet with case backgrounds and then there are the 3 books. I've never held the EO book in my hands, so I can't be sure, but I can be sure about the books. The books handle things differently from the show imo (I won't even start about quality). It's all a matter of personal choice, I guess. It's also a matter of continuity (the 3 books have so many canon errors in them and so little continuity - shudder). Then there is the virtual season. (fanfic though) The show is the only source of canon if you ask me. Everything else can be inlcuded or excluded as everyone sees fit. However, I think a warning in the intro that your story is based on the book content (permission needed if you base the story on another fanfic) or whatever would be fair, since not everybody in the fandom has read the books. As far as I can tell, very few M/Lwriters started off from the book (since Logan is less strong a character there) but that shouldn't stop you. Do as you see fit and the readers will judge erm...review ;D

Thanks, Scirta! Good to know what playbook to use! And I appreciate the note about the books--heck, if Logan isn't a strong character in them, wonder if the author(s) even WATCHED the show? I mean, come on...! Thanks again-- ~S~
