There's not much in this interview, but, I'll post it nonetheless. The link to this interview is also a little misleading.
Edgy Hunk Michael Weatherly
By Bill Abdul, 365Gay.com
He's sexy, smart, and he loves playing characters with an edge.
We're talking about Michael Weatherly who plays wiseass Tony DiNozzo on CBS' NCIS.
He began his television career in The Cosby Show but it was Dark Angel were he really caught our attention.
While Dark Angel's Original Cindy got the attention from lesbians the guys were focusing on Weatherly.
Now, at thirty-something it's still hard to keep our eyes off him.
NCIS, which stands for Naval Criminal Investigative Service is an action drama, about a team of special agents whose mission is to investigate any crime that has a shred of evidence connected to Navy and Marine Corps personnel, regardless of rank or position.
The series is fronted by veteran, and equally hunky, Mark Harmon.
Weatherly is Anthony DiNozzo, a former homicide detective who has instincts that come only from working on the streets. He relishes the part.
"He's a federal agent, but he has very little regard for toeing the line of political correctness or anything like that," Weatherly says.
"I love playing somebody who was kind of a rebel without a cause."
Born in New York City and raised in Fairfield, CT, Michael Weatherly left college to pursue a career in acting.
"I grew up in Connecticut, went to an all-boys school and then went away to boarding school.," he says.
When he decided to chuck political science in his senior year in college his businessman father (he's the exclusive importer and distributor of Swiss Army knifes) wasn't pleased, but he didn't stand in his way.
So, it was off to Hollywood.
Weatherly had a great passion for music, and played in a band while pursuing his acting career.
While playing in the band, he began acting professionally and landed his first job as Theo Huxtable's roommate on "The Cosby Show," and a role in the independent film "Trigger Happy" opposite Rosario Dawson. This led to numerous guest spots on television and brought him to Los Angeles.
After moving to Los Angeles, he landed a series regular role in the FOX television series "Significant Others." Weatherly then met director Whit Stillman, who cast him in the film "The Last Days of Disco" opposite Chloe Sevigny.
He has also appeared in "The Specials," "Venus and Mars" and "Gun Shy."
