Alimi Ballard AKA Herbal is joining the cast of NCIS for more then one episode he told us on this twitter page twitter.com/alimiballard I'm TaniaNZ on twitter. Okay, I've been wondering this for a while now, uninformed soul that I am -- there have been so many DA alumni on NCIS it seems striking. Is it fair to assume that MW is putting in a good word, and that helps them get a foot in the door? Is this unusual? Even Harmon hasn't had all that many people from his past gigs on the show (although the couple coming to mind -- Lauren Holly & Rocky Carroll -- have had long term jobs). I love seeing all of them show up, and am really exited that Herbal Thought has become an NCIS agent! ("the righteous mon has the right to remain silent; any word the mon say Jai may use to judge him..." ) I really have no desire to see JA on the show, though; I would think it would be awkward and the writers would be put in knots trying to think up what & how to write her in. (I mean, I'd watch it, but had more fun seeing Sam & Uncle Jonas & Original Cindy ... even Zack with that weird little pouty lip thing he does... )

www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/entertainment/news/camerons-manga-series-on-hold-16010432.htmlCameron's Manga series on hold Friday, 10 June 2011 James Cameron says he would love to work with Jessica Alba James Cameron has confirmed his big screen adaptation of Japanese Manga series Battle Angel Alita is on hold. The Avatar director has spoken of his desire to turn the first three volumes of the cult Japanese comics into a film. But speaking at a dinner in his honour hosted by the charity Covenant House California, the 56-year-old said the project had been delayed until after he finishes the two planned sequels to box-office smash Avatar. Cameron said: "I'm doing a second and third film. We're at the writing stage right now, early design, doing software development and so on. Battle Angel is right now on hold until those films are done." The Battle Angel Alita series, created by Yakito Kishiro, tells the story of a cyborg in a post-apocalyptic world. Meanwhile, Cameron revealed he's keen to work with Fantastic Four star Jessica Alba, after the pair posed for pictures on the red carpet together at the event. "I'd love to have Jessica Alba in any movie," he answered when quizzed over whether the star might appear in his Avatar sequel. "She and I work very well together." But he added: "I think she's busy being a mum right now." Jessica, 30, told press she was "fine" as she showed off her baby bump in a white gypsy-style dress. The Machete star is already mother to three-year-old daughter Honor Marie with producer husband Cash Warren.

Cameron moving to New Zealand news.yahoo.com/james-cameron-plans-move-zealand-farm-223858215.htmlWELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — Hollywood director James Cameron is planning to move onto a New Zealand farm. Cameron has successfully applied to buy 1,067 hectares (2,636 acres) of farmland in New Zealand. In an application filed with the New Zealand Overseas Investment Office, Cameron says he and his family "intend to reside indefinitely in New Zealand and are acquiring the property to reside on and operate as a working farm." Cameron, a Canadian, directed two of Hollywood's most successful films, "Titanic" and "Avatar." He could not be immediately contacted by The Associated Press Thursday, but it's believed he will move to New Zealand this year to film the sequel to "Avatar." The rural properties are about a 90-minute drive from Wellington, home to Weta Digital, which won an Oscar for its visual effects work on the first "Avatar" movie.

Ok my James Cameron story, once a long time ago before Dark Angel I spent about 5 minutes trying to break into the movie business doing behind the scenes crew work and I was sent one day to Cameron's production offices to pick up his personal camera that a former assistant of his was going to use to make a short film. Didn't meet him, offices were nice. Yep that's the whole story.

Old Jimmy does like to stay busy www.cnn.com/2012/03/25/world/asia/mariana-trench-cameron/index.html(CNN) -- Oscar-winning director James Cameron has plunged to the deepest known point in the world's oceans, tweeting from his one-man submersible during the process. The filmmaker reached Challenger Deep, which is part of the Mariana Trench in the western Pacific Ocean, near Guam, at 7:52 a.m. Monday (5:52 p.m. ET Sunday), according to Ellen Stanley, a spokeswoman for the National Geographic Society that is working with Cameron on the project. "Just arrived at the ocean's deepest pt," Cameron wrote on Twitter. "Hitting bottom never felt so good." At more than 10,900 meters (about 35,800 feet), the Mariana Trench is deeper than Mount Everest is tall. And it has had only two previous human visitors, as U.S. Navy Lt. Don Walsh and late Swiss explorer Jacques Piccard descended to that spot in 1960. Tiny sub used in Cameron's deep sea dive 1960: Journey to ocean's deepest point Cameron is the first person to make the dive solo, a distinction that also had been sought by billionaire businessman and adventurer Richard Branson and Patrick Lahey, an experienced submarine pilot. The man behind the blockbuster hits "Titanic" and "Avatar" went down in a high-tech vessel, the Deepsea Challenger, which he and a team of scientists and engineers constructed in Australia over the past eight years. Outfitted with special cameras and robotic arms, Deepsea Challenger is able to dive vertically at speeds of 500 to 700 feet per minute and can withstand immense pressure -- up to 16,000 pounds per square inch. Engineers and scientists joined Cameron's team during Sunday's deep sea endeavor. Earlier, he'd said he plans to spend six hours at the bottom of the trench collecting samples for research that will allow scientists on board and around the world to learn about the habitat and life forms at that depth. "It's so exciting -- every second you see something cool or you've got something to do or you're photographing or you see some amazing fish," Cameron told CNN earlier this month. Scientists hope that a fresh look at Challenger Deep will provide insight into many unfamiliar life forms in the depths of the ocean. It is estimated that more than 750,000 marine species have not been formally described in scientific literature over the centuries, triple the number of those that have been. The figures exclude microbes, of which a 2010 marine life census estimates there are up to one billion kinds. The nonprofit X-Prize Foundation has announced it will award a $10 million prize to the first person to reach the bottom of the Mariana Trench. Cameron told CNN he's not interested in competing for this prize, or any other, because his mission is purely about scientific research. "You know, there's so much we don't know," Cameron said. "I'm hopeful that we'll be able to study the ocean before we destroy it."
