 Who Killed Dark Angel ?
« Thread Started on Jan 19, 2007, 12:31am »

We've all blamed Gail Berman for killing our show when she was President of Fox Broadcasting, well now it's happened to her.

She left Fox 18 months ago for a better job, jumping from TV to movies, which is a BIG jump.

Now she's been fired by Universal.

Regarding Dream Girls: Universal's unfortunate hire — and just fired — Gail Berman, wanted Jennifer Hudson off the picture. “She didn’t think Jennifer was any good in the dailies,” a source explained to me. Not only has Jennifer just received a Golden Globe but she is considered an Oscar shoo-in. She has been receiving standing ovations from moviegoers.

Gail Berman, considered a pregnant dog on wheels by agents, managers, producers, screenwriters and talent, who all retaliated by complaining nonstop to the press about her until she was fired last week.

P.S. Thanks for reminding me about this Be-eye-tea-see-h ::), I had totally forgotten about her existence. Who would want that :P.

Viacom, Paramount, Universal, CBS, MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1, plus others - all under the same banner.

It's Sumner Redstone's take over of whatever Rudolph Murdoch doesn't own.

Berman went from Murdoch to Redstone to "Out the Door." Maybe her old pal Joss Whedon will give her a job.

From today's New York Post.
January 31, 2007 -- CHAMPAGNE glasses clinked all over Hollywood Monday night when it was announced that former Paramount president Gail Bermanand former ABC entertainment chief Lloyd Braun - two of the best-liked executives in L.A. - were joining forces to create their own production company, BermanBraun. The partners have no projects on their slate yet but are being wooed by every company except for ABC, whose chief, Bob Iger, fired Braun two years ago, despite the success of "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives." The most likely home for the two is Fox, but NBC's Jeff Zucker is working hard to outbid Fox head Peter Chernin.

Some of those hardly count as Sci-Fi. I never really considered Pretender or Touching Evil sci-fi, which might have something to do with the fact that those were the only two on that list I liked other than DA and Firefly. I think the only reason I liked those two was because I could ignore the Sci-fi aspects and focus on the interesting and well written characters and the juxtaposing of future and past. In DA you had a future ripped straight out of the 1930's and in Firely you had a future blended from the combined filmography's of John Wayne and Sergio Leone.
