Jessica Alba was named one of People Magazine's 100 Most Beautiful People in the World.

Her new movie is called Awake. Here's how Alba, 25, keeps that fresh vibe. Always wears: "Moisturizer." Barely wears: "Powder. I have kind of a round nose, and too much powder makes it look rounder." Washes hair: "Most days, unfortunately. I don't think it's good for your hair." Smells like: "Gardenia and candy."

Saw JA interviewed at that US party from last night. The interview was on E news daily which is always repeated several times during the night and tomorrow morning. Plus there will be a second part of the interview on tomorrows show. Tonights interview was mostly about her fashion sense and workout regimen. She seemed to be in a great mood, was all laughing and giggly which is always nice to see :D. She also talked about being an American Idol fan ::). Oh well, nobody is perfect ;D. I think I'm the only one in the world who has never watched that show ::)

Style Icons 2006
Us honors the best-dressed celebs — and the experts who keep Hollywood in fashion
By JOEY BARTOLOMEO & CAROL MCCOLGIN

STYLE ICON OF THE YEAR

— ♦ —

Starry night! it's hard to stand out in a sea of celebs as stylish as Reese, Charlize and Nicole, but at the 78th Annual Academy Awards, all eyes were on 25-year-old presenter Jessica Alba. Her floor-sweeping golden Versace halter gown with $480,000 of H. Stern diamond bling stole the show -- and topped fashion critics' best-dressed lists. Her response? "I could go for black, but why not? I'm at the Oscars!" she told Us. It's Alba's enthusiasm and effortless glamour that make her Us's 2006 Style Icon.

New Attitude

"Before, I just wore whatever designers gave me -- I wasn't secure enough to have [my own] style," Alba, who is shooting sequels to Sin City and Fantastic Four, tells Us. "Now I know what I like and what looks good." Her fashion don'ts include short skirts, shiny materials, floral prints and revealing too much skin.

In the Mix

Alba favors feminine but "not overly frilly" frocks by Yves Saint Laurent and Viktor & Rolf, a few Grace Kelly-
inspired vintage pieces and men's cashmere sweaters cinched at the waist. "I'm not the sexiest or shiniest. I'd rather be most elegant," she says.

Alba Lands Starring Role As Host Of MTV's Highly Anticipated Blockbuster

The '2006 MTV Movie Awards' Premieres To Audiences Nationwide On Thursday, June 8th at 9pm ET/PT

SANTA MONICA, Calif., May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Ending the eager speculation of who will land the starring role, MTV today announced that Jessica Alba will take the spotlight as leading lady of the "2006 MTV Movie Awards." Star of both big screen and small, Alba will host the MTV ceremony, as well as star in its leading role as this year's show promises to be more than an award show, but a movie unto itself. Jessica Alba is also up for three nominations at this year's event including "Best Hero" and "Best On-Screen Team" for her performance in the "Fantastic Four" (20th Century Fox), along with "Sexiest Performance" for her role in "Sin City" (Dimension Films), a film also up for "Best Movie" honors. Filming June 3rd at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, CA, the "2006 MTV Movie Awards" will premiere to audiences nationwide on Thursday, June 8th at 9pm ET/PT on MTV.

"Talented, smart and funny, Jessica is one of Hollywood's hottest and most sought-after actresses, and the perfect leading lady for the Movie Awards," said Christina Norman, President, MTV. "This year's show promises to be anything but traditional, and Jessica is just the person to help mix things up."

All achieving notable success, combined worldwide box offices for all three films generated over half a billion dollars. Audiences will also recognize Jessica from her stand out performance in the hit urban drama "Honey," as well as her role as the lead character in James Cameron's television series, "Dark Angel," among her multiple other credits. Upcoming projects in which Alba will star include sequels to the comic book adaptation to "Fantastic Four" and the acclaimed "Sin City," along with the psychological thriller, "Awake" opposite Hayden Christiansen set for release in early 2007.

Up for starring roles at the "2006 MTV Movie Awards" are the "40-Year Old Virgin" and "Wedding Crashers," each receiving five nominations. Also vying for the spotlight are "Batman Begins," "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," "Hustle & Flow," "Sin City" and "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith" with three nominations each. MTV will also celebrate the all new categories of "Best Hero," "Sexiest Performance" and the "mtvU Student Filmmaker Award" for the first time ever. I was a little surprised that they didn't get a younger, teenage host for the MTV Movie Awards, due to the main age group that watches this type of awards show.
Re: **Jessica Alba Interviews and News**
Post by aerie on May 1, 2006, 1:04pm

I wonder what is the average age of the viewer, not just for the award show, but the whole MTV thing.

I don't watch MTV so I can't comment on the programs. Rumor has it back in the old days it was music vids all day and night.

Someone with time could research last year's ratings and viewer ages. ::)
Re: **Jessica Alba Interviews and News**

From channel surfing past MTV, I don't think that they play many music videos anymore, that's for their sister station MTV 2. ;) Like a lot of television networks, I get the impression that MTV relies on a lot reality television directed at teenagers.

Like any good sexetary I have anticipated your needs before you articulated them ;). I've already seen MTV2 and I'm afraid they don't have much more music than MTV ::). And what they do have is alot of Rap which I'm not into :-/. They did have a couple music shows I can recommend though I haven't watched lately so I'm not sure if they're still on :-/. "T-minus rock" is a countdown of videos from alt rock acts like we would hear on Kroq ;). Even better was/is a show called "Discover and Download" or something close to that. This has occasionally been on MTV but runs more often on MTV2. This has truly unique acts on, stuff you don't usually hear much on the radio or anywhere else.

P.S. I realize this whole post has been OT, but please remember I am only a sexetary trying to fulfill the needs of my boss.

In other words it's all Aerie's fault :-* :-*.

A BIG NIGHT FOR FASHION
Wednesday May 3, 2006
The stars came out in droves and spoke to Star at one of the major New York fashion events of the season, the Met Costume Institute Gala, on Monday, May 1.

Hot young Into the Blue star Jessica Alba, who's just been tapped to host the MTV Movie Awards that air June 8, was on the red carpet with boyfriend Cash Warren standing by, beaming as she talked fashion!

"I am more of a baseball-hat-and-sweats girl. But it is fun to dress up. [Cash] gets pretty happy when I get dressed up," she said, laughing.

She also talked about turning 25 on April 28. "We did a lot to celebrate. I had a party in L.A. and one in New York, and then a nice dinner with my man, so I did a few things. We went to dinner at Bridge and Megu. It was nice, fun and eclectic."

How to get the look:
1. Apply volumizing mousse all over, and – using a medium-sized round barrel brush – blow-dry smooth.
2. Wrap hair sections around the brush, and blow-dry for five seconds. Blast with cool air to set and unravel.
3. Twist the pieces together to "create loopy, bouncy waves," says Arrojo.

Bonus tip: You can also use hot Velcro rollers – but be sure to cool hair before removing them. "Otherwise, you'll lose the bounce," he says. Finish with hairspray.

Oh, honey, for me to get the look, I'd need corrective surgery, extentions, caps on my teeth, botoxed lips....

"Katharine is gorgeous and has a great range. She looks like an 'American Idol.' My parents like Taylor. There's a lot of popular musicians or singers that couldn't do a quarter of what those singers do on 'American Idol.' ... I'll make dinner and have my parents and some friends over and we'll watch the show. If my family had a favorite 'American Idol,' Katharine definitely is the most appropriate. I think she can sell records and she has a beautiful voice, beautiful range, and she's a beautiful girl."

Behind the scenes with Jessica -- kicking the crap out of the paparazzi!

Jessica Alba: Hottest Awards Show Host Ever?

May 30, 2006

ET caught up with JESSICA ALBA behind the scenes as she was filming commercial spots for the upcoming "MTV Movie Awards," which the hot Hollywood star will host on June 8.

"It's based around things you don't know about me," Jessica tells ET. "One of the things is I do Tae Bo -- it's supposed to be a gag that if you do Tae Bo you can do all these other amazing martial arts."

She shows off her butt-kicking skills when confronted on the street by a crowd of press photographers furiously clicking away at their cameras. "I'm beating up paparazzi in this commercial," the sexy starlet says with a sly grin. "I get to take all my real anger out on them."

Making a special guest appearance is her friend and fellow shutter bug target NICOLE RICHIE. "I know Nicole," Jessica says. "She went to school with my boyfriend -- it's a small world!"

For her role, Nicole is "looking beautiful and feminine and just being fabulous," Jessica says. "And I'm being angry and crazy."

Jessica says she suggested that MTV ask her famous friend to take part. "I was hoping she'd do it. I think she's going to make the spot really funny."

The first time awards show host says she's a little nervous about how the production will go over. "I've never hosted an awards show before," she says. "It's great [but] it's pretty nerve-wracking. Hopefully people will laugh at my jokes."

But she shouldn't have any trouble getting laughs -- this year MTV promises the usual mayhem during its annual show. Dishing a little dirt, the host-to-be revealed something new is in store for the pre-taped comic spots that are shown between the awards and performances. "Usually they spoof movies that were nominated," Jessica says. "This time we're spoofing 'The Da Vinci Code' -- JIMMY FALLON is going to help me with that."

The silly side of Jessica, with Jimmy and Nicole? We can't wait!

The "2006 MTV Movie Awards" airs Thursday, June 8th at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.

Stay tuned to ET for your backstage pass to the wildest movie awards show -- and hottest host -- of the year!

According to www.variety.com Jessica Alba will star in "The Ten", a comedy spoofing the Ten Commandments. The filming will begin in July, mostly in New York.

City Lights Pictures and MEGA Films have teamed to finance and produce "The Ten," a comedy spoofing the Ten Commandments, to be directed by David Wain ("Wet Hot America Summer"). Pic, written by Wain and Ken Marino, will star Paul Rudd, Amanda Peet, Jessica Alba, Ken Marino, Justin Theroux and Adam Brody.

Jonathan Stern will produce with Morris Levy for MEGA along with Marino, Rudd and Wain. City Lights CEO Danny Fisher and Michael Almog will exec produce, Michael Califra will co-exec produce and Marcus Lansdell will associate produce. Filming will begin in July, primarily in New York.

Wain's credits include small-screen comedy series "The State" and Comedy Central show "Stella." Marino is screenwriter, producer and cast member of "Diggers," which will be released later this year by HDNet/Magnolia. City Lights and MEGA just completed principal photography on the thriller "Descent," produced by and starring Rosario Dawson. City Lights also produced "Tamara" for Lionsgate and "Interrupted," directed by Philip Kaufman.

May 31, 2006 -- 'THE PUBLIC'S appe tite for famous peo ple is a mouth as big as a mountain," said Robert Motherwell back in 1915. Nothing new under the sun, folks!
OVER a Memorial Day weekend filled with Mideast carnage and death, I decided out of curiosity - and to escape real news - to click onto the Yahoo! "buzz log" category of most searched-for actors online.

I expected proud new parents Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to top the list. Nope. Miss Jolie was No. 5 out of the top 20. Mr. Pitt was the only male in the Top 20, at No. 17. Jessica Alba was No. 1. Interesting. Could it be that for all the media screeching, people aren't that fascinated by Brad and Angelina? Perhaps they really didn't have to go hide themselves away in Namibia, with all of that little country's official protection, to safely have their child? Maybe, like Tom and Katie, they could have had their baby right here in the good old U.S.A., with normal-type security. After all, nobody barged in on Miss Holmes in delivery, and surely her birth-giving was as eagerly anticipated as Angelina's.

Jessica Alba plans a fantastic summer
Posted 5/31/2006 9:38 PM ET
[image]
No, Jessica Alba isn't going blonde — at least not permanently. The blonde wig is for an MTV Movie Awards skit.

By William Keck, USA TODAY
She lands on magazine covers and tops nearly every Hollywood hot list. And on Saturday, Fantastic Four's Jessica Alba will be hosting the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles (airing June 8, 9 p.m. ET/PT). "I'm so excited," Alba says. "We're all going to be acting really crazy." USA TODAY asked Alba, 25, how she'll make the most of her summer.
Q: You and your boyfriend (production assistant Cash Warren) started off summer by riding roller coasters at Magic Mountain. How did you guys fare?

A: Cash threw up after the first ride. He was ruined for the rest of the night.

Q: What's the summer movie you most want to see?

A: X-Men: The Last Stand. We're going to have the X-Men babes Rebecca Romijn, Halle Berry and Famke Janssen on the (awards) show. All these comic-book movies bode well for the genre. We start Fantastic Four 2 in August. The four of us learn that there are other people out there with superpowers, and the Silver Surfer appears as a villain/hero. And another villain comes in as well. My character, Susan Storm, has another love triangle and may use a power people haven't seen before. She's the most powerful of the four.

Q: Who might break out as the next big male movie star?

A: Three guys are on my radar: Max Minghella (Art School Confidential, in limited release), Dane Cook (Employee of the Month, due this year) and Topher Grace (Spider-Man 3, opening in 2007). They've got the chops and the charisma.

Q: What's going to be the hot sound of summer?

A: I want to see Christina Aguilera's concert so bad. She's performing at the awards. Her new album is absolute fire. I went to her house and got a sneak peak. It's hot and modern and has dance tracks, but then she also has a throwback to Billie Holiday.

Q: You always look awesome. How do you keep those Alba abs?

A: I have a trainer I work out with four days a week to get my body stronger for Fantastic Four 2. And I try to not to eat too much dessert. I like whipped cream a lot. I'll put whipped cream on anything.

Q: What cocktail helps you stay cool?

A: I'm really feeling the mojitos. The mint and sugar cane is so refreshing.

Q: What book might you be flipping through by the pool?

A: I like things about improving your health, like ayurvedic stuff. It's an Eastern way of living and healing your body with oils and meditation and yoga.

Q: What's your hair going to look like this summer?

A: It's medium brown, and I have a few highlights and it gets lighter in the sun. Every day I spray in leave-in conditioner. Susan Storm has white-blond hair. I went blond for the first one, but I might try a wig for the sequel. I had to chop my hair off because it got so damaged.

Q: Are you hitting the beach this summer?

A: Maybe the Caribbean or Mexico again. My favorite beach is probably the Eco Lodge in Costa Rica. I've never been to European beaches, so it might be fun to go to Greece or Spain.

Q: European beaches are known for being topless. Might you try that?

A: I would if it were just me and my guy, but the paparazzi seem to pop up everywhere.

Q: So bikinis or one-piece?

A: Bikinis are more flattering on my body. I wore jean shorts to the beach when I was a teenager. I was an insecure teenager and a born-again Christian hanging out with a group of kids that made me feel bad about showing my body. But I learned I shouldn't be ashamed of what God gave me.

Q: What about guys in Speedos?

A: I like guys in board shorts.

Q: Are you a fan of spray-on tans?

A: I have done them before. You have to do ones with anti-oxidants that leave you brown instead of orange. I took my mom once, and it was so fun. She's French and Danish, but my dad's Mexican, so he's really dark all the time.

Q: What's the hot color of summer?

A: Maybe white. It attracts the sun the least.

Q: Might you be wearing a white wedding gown this summer?

A: No, no. We're not engaged. I'm still young!

Alba's funny side to shine on MTV awards show
By JAKE COYLE
Associated Press
Posted: May 31, 2006
New York - Jessica Alba, ubiquitous in magazine "sexy" polls, hopes to show fans a different side of herself when she hosts the MTV Movie Awards this week.
Jessica Alba
When to Watch
What: The Movie Awards
When: 8 p.m. June 8
Where: MTV

The 25-year-old actress intends to be funny at the awards show, which will take place Saturday night at Sony Picture Studios in Culver City, Calif., and air June 8.

Comedy is the show's theme, with "The 40 Year-Old Virgin" and "Wedding Crashers" leading the nominees with five each.

Alba will perform Billy Crystal-style parodies of the big films of the past year. Exactly which movies she won't say, but one can suspect a more appealing version of "Brokeback Mountain."

Aside from hosting, she is also nominated for three golden popcorn trophies - sexiest performance for "Sin City" and best hero and best on-screen team with Michael Chiklis, Chris Evans and Ioan Gruffudd for "Fantastic Four."

Alba, frequently confined to the two-dimensional world of comic-book movies, says she's looking forward to the freedom of the open stage.

Q. As you prepare, are you adapting to the role of awards-show host?

A. It's going to be different than the normal MTV Awards. I don't think it really feels like you're watching an awards show. Me being involved and being an actor, not really a comedian - but I'm doing comedic stuff - I think it just makes it feel a little different. I'm not a TV personality. I guess it's more sort of the way when Lindsay Lohan did it.

Q. Do you think this will give people a better perspective of your personality?

A. Yeah! I'm totally excited! Because usually I get hired for movies and I can't write them, and I have to say what's already there. This just allows me to have a little bit of input in what I'm doing and show a goofier side - and to play. I am an actress because I like to play. Usually I get to play in more serious roles, but this is fun to do something that's completely crazy and wild.

Q. How many outfit changes will you get in?

A. Probably four or five. I'm not ridiculous and I'm not a diva. And I really don't like fitting. Clothes are nice, but to be honest, jeans and T-shirts and boots or sneakers, I'm good to go. Dressing up is fun, but after four changes, I get exhausted.

Q. You played a dancer in "Honey," so will you be shaking a leg at the MTV Awards?

A. I don't think so. I offered that up. I said it would be funny if I was hidden as a back-up dancer, but doing it really bad - because I'm not a real dancer. But I think it would distract from the performer.

Q. Is there any magazine poll of "sexiest" or "best girlfriend material" that you haven't topped?

A. (Laughs) You know I don't really keep track of that kind of stuff. I'm usually like, "Oh, that's nice." I'm always the last to find those kinds of things out, but I'm really, truly grateful that people show up to the movies that I'm in and tune in to the stuff I'm on.

Alba picks popcorn over Oscars
Friday June 2 8:31 PM ET
Forget the Academy Awards. Up-and-coming actress Jessica Alba, who hosts the widely watched MTV Movie Awards this weekend, believes bringing down the house for the MTV generation is more important for star power than winning Oscars -- for now, anyway.

The 25 year-old star of movies "Fantastic Four" and "Sin City" told Reuters that appearing at Hollywood's most irreverent awards show -- where gold buckets of popcorn are awarded in offbeat categories like "Best Kiss" and "Best Villain" -- signals to the industry that a performer can lure young crowds to box offices.

For Hollywood, younger moviegoers make up the core audience who turn out weekly and buy loads of popcorn, and Alba said she appreciates their loyalty.

"They show up to the movies and they take their friends, and that's who I make movies for," she said.

"It's less about critics or about an Academy Award-winning performance," she added. "If you are at the MTV Movie Awards, it validates peoples' value in the entertainment business."

Alba, who made her name as an action hero on the Fox television series "Dark Angel," said she is taking on comedy for the first time at the awards show, and is nervous about how her performance will be received -- not by fans, but by other celebrities.

The show's list of high-profile attendees include comedian Will Ferrell, singer Jessica Simpson, and Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx, among others.

"I'm actually more nervous for my contemporaries to see me," Alba said. "I think my priorities are a little skewed."

To make the show fun for fans, Alba said she hopes "all the celebs feel comfortable enough to have fun and go crazy."

If that doesn't happen, however, Alba made light of what the consequences would be for her career. "If it's not, then I'll never do it again," she said, laughing.

The MTV Movie Awards will be taped on Saturday and air on the cable TV network this coming Thursday, June 8.

Alba, Banks fit the "Bill"
By Tatiana Siegel
Tue Jun 6, 11:42 PM ET
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) Jessica Alba and Elizabeth Banks have joined Aaron Eckhart in the indie comedy "Bill." Eckhart plays the title character who, fed up with his job, his wife (Banks) and his life, finds himself the reluctant mentor of an unruly teenager. His life hits an all-time low when he catches his wife having an affair. But with the help of Lucy (Alba), an intriguing saleswoman, he regains his lost sense of self. Lindsay Lohan, who was attached to play the unruly teen, recently dropped out of the film.

Principal photography begins Thursday in and around St. Louis. The screenplay was written by Melisa Wallack, who also will co-direct the GreeneStreet Films project with her husband, Bernie Goldman.

Alba's credits include "Sin City" and "Fantastic Four." She stars in GreeneStreet's upcoming thriller "Awake," currently in postproduction.

Banks next will be seen in Walt Disney Pictures' "Invincible" opposite Mark Wahlberg and Greg Kinnear and the CBS miniseries "Comanche Moon," the prequel to "Lonesome Dove." Her credits include "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," "Seabiscuit," "Slither" and the "Spider-Man" films.

Alba Eyes a 'Fantastic' Time at MTV Movie Awards
By Jay Bobbin, Zap2it
June 7 2006
[image]
It's one thing to be a leading lady, but having that billing at the MTV Movie Awards can mean something else entirely.

Jessica Alba is getting to find that out, since the "Fantastic Four" and "Sin City" co-star presides over this year's edition of the traditionally irreverent event, in which she's also a three-time nominee.

Recorded June 3 at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, Calif., the event will be televised by MTV on Thursday, June 8. The comedies "Wedding Crashers" and "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" lead the nominees with five bids each.

Among scheduled presenters are Jamie Foxx, Kate Hudson, Matt Dillon, Kate Beckinsale, Ludacris, Justin Timberlake, Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell, "X-Men: The Last Stand" co-stars Rebecca Romijn and Famke Janssen, and "Superman Returns" colleagues Brandon Routh and Kate Bosworth. Being on MTV, the show also involves music, with Christina Aguilera and the punk-rock act AFI performing.

"I was thrilled," Alba says of being asked to host. "It's the most fun award show to be at. It's crazy, and it's all fan-based, so there's always a lot of energy. You get a nice mix of movie people and music people, so it was an honor to be invited.

"I was like, 'Really? The kids want to see me?' As odd as it may seem, I don't make movies for myself. I make them because I like to entertain people, and doing this validates that."

So do Alba's MTV Movie Award nominations: best hero and best on-screen team for "Fantastic Four," and sexiest performance for "Sin City." While pleased both films were box-office successes, she adds, "The other side to what I do is the more indie, artsy kind of character-driven material that maybe doesn't appeal to the mass audience. Right now, this is what my thing is, so I'm just going with it." That also covers the "Fantastic Four" and "Sin City" sequels she'll soon begin filming.

"I am seeking out more indie stuff now," says Alba, who co-stars with Hayden Christensen of "Star Wars" fame in the upcoming independent release "Awake." "It's just a matter of picking the right thing, because there's so much out there. Based on what I've done, people will be aware of it, so I want to do something I'm really passionate about."

Hosting the 2006 MTV Movie Awards involves much more for Alba than merely showing up for the ceremony. The concept of making the event a movie unto itself required considerable production time, and Alba admits her role became "a bigger deal than I thought, but it's fun. It's really something I'm choosing to do, so it doesn't feel like a job. I get to do skits with different comedians, which is a blast. It's like the 'MTV Movie Awards Movie,' so it's a different take than the show has had in the past."

Still, Alba is very familiar with the program's home base. "I've done a lot of stuff with MTV. I did Cameron Diaz's show 'Trippin,' and I'm always doing 'TRL' whenever I have something coming out. It's a great demographic, and those are certainly the people who are showing up at the movies and buying products. The fact that they like me is a bonus."

Fashion designers must feel the same way about Alba, since she's a red-carpet regular at events promoting their industry.

"I've always loved fashion," she says, "and I appreciate everyone who dresses me for things like award shows. It's like a form of art, so I give props to anybody who chooses any sort of artistic endeavor as a job. I'm attracted to that, obviously."

Also a known commodity in men's magazines -- even those that use photos of her without her approval, as Playboy did recently with a promotional shot from her 2005 movie "Into the Blue" -- Alba doesn't feel her fame has eclipsed her chances of landing parts she's wanted.

"People certainly have opinions of me," she says, "but I am a proper actress. I've been doing this for 14 years, so usually when I sit down with [filmmakers], they get it. You don't judge people's abilities from giant comic-book movies. They're fun and they're entertaining, but nobody's trying to win an Oscar in those."

Alba had the best of both worlds during her two seasons of "Dark Angel," the Fox fantasy-adventure series about a genetically altered messenger.

"It was very different for television," she says. "It really was outside the box, a bit like an indie film in its way of thinking. If I showed any emotion, I would get screamed at, because my character was supposed to be robotic or just sad and pissed off. Usually, they don't allow 18-year-old girls to be that way."

Alba guarantees that won't happen at the MTV Movie Awards, since she knows from previous appearances what the backstage atmosphere is like.

"There are all these little rooms, and everyone has their little section," she reports. "Last year, Nicole Kidman was getting her makeup touched up right next to me, and walking behind us was Jon Heder, acting crazy. You get everybody from the whole spectrum of movies there."

June 12, 2006 -- IT'S hard to believe those gentle, playful dolphins we all love are actually ultra-horny, dangerously jealous creatures - but Jessica Alba and Susan Sarandon can tell you it's true from personal experience.
Alba learned just how sex-crazed the lovable mammals are when she filmed the 1990s "Flipper" remake. "Dolphins get excited, even when you are a human being and they have long, long," the "Sin City" hottie told MTV. ". . . I didn't know this until I was being poked by a few of them, which was very rude. I sort of requested female dolphins after that because those are horny little b-s." As word got around, her friends and family "did dolphin-squeaking noises anytime they talked to me, which was pretty annoying."

Ok I'm a little late :-[ ::), but i finally saw the MTV Movie Awards today. I thought JA did an excellent job 8-). She looked like she was having so much fun :D, especially when accepting the Sexiest performer award :). That's so nice to see. Overall I thought the show was kind of weak but I don't really like awards shows :P, I did think this went by really fast. Which is really impressive considering how lame the musical performances were. I thought some of the writing of the skits was weak as well but JA really worked to sell them and did a good job. Really how could you not be impressed with "Jessica Alba, Negligee wearing Real Estate agent" ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D She worked her ass off for that skit alone ;D ;D 8-).

As you can tell from my liberal use of smilies I really enjoyed this show :)

Entertaiment Weekly

Highlights from ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY’s June 30/July 7 issue (on newsstands nationwide Monday, June 26):
JESSICA ALBA TOPS ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY'S MUST LIST

Chosen because, as the say in Hollywood, she's having a moment Jessica Alba glows on the cover of this year’s Must List issue and is named the Must Girl of Summer. Her last movie was eight months ago and her next one doesn't have a release date, yet there's huge a buzz around her. Why is she enjoying such a rush of media and fan effusion? It could be her dazzling appearance that continues to captivate her fans.

"Leading ladies in Hollywood usually have blond hair and blue eyes," says Alba. "The actresses with darker features usually end up playing villains or foreigners or the girl the guy cheats on his girlfriend with. But people today, especially this next generation of kids, they don't look like middle America anymore. They're not all blond and blue-eyed. They're more ethnically mixed. Today, the girls next door looks more like me."

When it comes to choosing her roles, she admits that her looks at times may limit her, but she won’t let that get in the way of pursuing meatier options. "There are always people at the studios-these small-minded guys in suits-who try to tell you who you are and why you can do," Alba says. "I don't take it personally. I understand that's just the way Hollywood is. The only thing I can do is work my ass off to prove that I'm capable of more. That's what I've been doing so far-I haven't really had a chance yet to express myself creatively in my movies. Mostly, I've just been hustling."

Alba says that she’s trying to choose characters that appeal more to female fans. "After Dark Angel, I knew I had the men covered," Alba says, "but I wasn't relatable to women, so I had to show a softer side of myself."

In the end, this young actress has her own grand plan. "My bigger goal is to produce," Alba tells Entertainment Weekly. "Tom Cruise has done it better than anyone."

JA is in talks for a new movie according to comingsoon.net
http://comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=15364

Lionsgate is picking up Cruise/Wagner-produced remake The Eye out of turnaround from Paramount and is in talks with Jessica Alba to star and French helmers David Moreau and Xavier Palud to direct. Variety says the film will shoot this winter.

The Eye is a thriller about a cornea transplant recipient who sees disturbing images in the mirror that send her on a quest to find out what happened to the eye's previous owner. The original was made in Hong Kong by Thai directing brothers Danny and Oxide Pang.

Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner persuaded Paramount to buy the remake rights in 2002 and got close to making it there with Renée Zellweger. When Zellweger dropped out, the project lost its momentum and the studio put it into turnaround.

Alba is in talks to make The Eye her next picture after the Fantastic Four sequel. Moreau and Palud, who last directed the French thriller Ils, will make The Eye their first U.S. picture.

I was in a drugstore yesterday and saw JA on the cover of some magazine. I think :-/ it was Cosmo or some kind of Cosmo spin-off but I can't seem to find the pic online. But the weird thing is I didn't even think about buying the magazine :-[. There was a time when I rushed out to buy every magazine she was in. Even if she was just mentioned and not featured in a new profile I'd still get it. It's not that I'm less a fan of hers now, it's just that since she has gotten more and more high profile there are soooo many magazines she is on the cover of or soooo many TV shows she is on. It's hard to keep up with all of them :-[ and they are kind of less special to me :-[.

I'm happy for JA and all the success she has had :) and I will continue to be but I kinda had the realization that it's slightly less fun to be her fan than it used to be. If that makes any sense :-/. It's like those people who are fans of a certain band before they hit it big and everyone knows who they are. Sometimes the old fans wish they still had the band all to themselves ::).

OK 8-), I'm done rambling for today ;D.

I know what you mean. I've never bought fan magazines but I have 4 younger siblings who buy them. They used to rush out every Friday looking for Jessica in the magazine and now they don't.

They are still loyal fans but some of the eagerness is gone because they know they will still see her all over the place. ;)

Almost every photo of her will end up at Maestro's place anyway. ;D

Our little girl certainly doesn't need to fight to be seen anymore! Flicking through a gossip mag while waiting for my Take-Away/Out the other night, I noticed that JA was featured no less than 4 times. Not little mentions either, but all at least 1/3 page articles!

From the Vancouver Sun
http://www.canada.com/vancouversun/colum....fb-affa7381b0d3

Jessica Alba and Dane Cook spent a few days this month shooting scenes for their Lionsgate comedy, Good Luck Chuck, in the penguin habitat at West Edmonton Mall. (Yes, you read that right, penguins living in a shopping mall.)

from cnewsnetwork
http://vancouver.24hrs.ca/Entertainment/2006/08/16/1757949-sun.html

Red-hot Jessica Alba knows how to dine out in style and so do a heck of a lot of her friends. Alba and no less than 15 pals chowed down at classy Morton's Steakhouse near Canada Place over the weekend. Among the mob, was actor Dane Cook, who just happens to be her co-star in the romantic comedy she's currently lensing here called Good Luck Chuck. Alba's also been seen regularly walking her tiny pooch near Stanley Park and hanging out in coffee shops in the area. She'll soon be pulling double duty when the mega- budget Fantastic Four 2 starts shooting here later this month.

Jessica Alba: Funny girl. She might be drop-dead gorgeous but the amusing thing is the actress has a killer sense of humour - Sun Media's Kevin Williamson can testify to this from her Vancouver movie set.
By KEVIN WILLIAMSON, SUN MEDIA
VANCOUVER -- There's nothing sexier than a sense of humour. Or so the ugly people will tell you.

Which makes you wonder how disheartened they'll be to learn that Jessica Alba, hardly one of the beauty-deficient, has humour too.

Or that, despite a resume heavy on superheroes and strippers, she considers herself a klutz. Listen carefully and you can almost hear the ugly people hurling themselves to their deaths.

"It's the real me," Alba insists on the set of the raunchy romantic comedy Good Luck, Chuck, in which she plays an accident-prone penguin specialist. "I run into a tray and smash wine glasses. What else do I do? I pour hot wax on (her co-star Dane Cook's) lap. That's my introduction in the movie."

And not as much of a stretch as you may expect, considering that the 25-year-old actress shot to stardom as a futuristic fighter chick in James Cameron's science-fiction TV series Dark Angel.

"People don't see the outtakes. They don't see in Dark Angel when I sent five guys to the hospital because I knocked them in the head by accident. I'm very much a klutz and it's not something I really try to promote or talk about. It just is. It's embarrassing. Dane gets to see, like anyone who spends any time with me on set, that off-camera I'm quite clumsy."

Clumsy like a fox, maybe. After all, a little hair gel in There's Something About Mary helped Cameron Diaz morph from mouth-watering movie morsel into a superstar comedienne. The same transformation could be in store for Alba, if Good Luck, Chuck proves she's more than just a hottie.

"I've been waiting since I started acting to do something like this and people just never thought of me as a comedic actress."

That began to change this year when Alba hosted the MTV Movie Awards. Cook remembers being in the audience watching her perform in a spoof of King Kong. "The minute it ended, I called my agent and said I don't want to talk about anyone else -- she's wonderful," he says. "When we were looking for Cam Wexler (Alba's character), it was always difficult to find the key combination - someone who's beautiful and funny."

Alba admits she viewed the awards show as less a hosting gig than as an audition tape for potential directors.

"It was just to show people I'm capable of having fun and taking the piss out of myself, so they could see a lighter side of me. I didn't write the comic book movies. I didn't write Dark Angel or Sin City. All those characters were written by someone else. That's not who I really am. I've been very blessed, but it's nice to be able to try something other than a comic book character."

Not that she's exactly leaving those parts behind. The day after she wraps Chuck, she'll reprise her role as the Invisible Woman in Fantastic Four: The Rise Of The Silver Surfer. Like the original, the sequel is being shot in Vancouver.

"It feels like home," she says of the city where Dark Angel was shot.

Of that period in her life, she recalls, "When James Cameron picks you out of 1,200 people to star in the only thing he's done since Titanic, there's a lot of pressure. I trained for a year to get there physically to the point where I could do my own stunts and I worked 90 hours a week ... I overcame a lot of fears here. I think I've been on top of every building here and I'm afraid of heights -- and I'm clumsy. I'd have to try to be co-ordinated and go up on buildings and act cool and ride motorcycles with no helmets and all that fun stuff."

Less fun? Dealing with paparazzi and a loss of privacy. Still, Alba, who also spent a few days shooting Chuck in West Edmonton Mall (where they have penguins) says, "Canadians are very respectful. From Toronto to Vancouver, when they recognize you they'll say, 'Hi' and keep moving. They're not crazy and weird. But I'm also not Michael Jackson or Britney Spears -- these pop icons."

She equally plays down her status as a sex symbol. "That's stuff I never put any effort into it. It's just what it is."

Which isn't to say Good Luck, Chuck doesn't utilize her obvious charms. In the movie, Cook plays a guy who discovers every woman he sleeps with immediately dumps him and moves on to her soul mate. Things get complicated when he meets his dream girl, played by Alba.

"I think it's a guy's dream," Alba laughs, comparing the movie to such R-rated comedies as The 40-Year-Old Virgin. "Who wouldn't want that? I mean, come on. If you could hook up with any woman you wanted and women are throwing themselves at you and they don't want any commitment or attachment, who wouldn't want that? No guy would complain about that. What happens is the grass is always greener on the other side. Because he has the pick of the litter, he wants the one thing he can't have, which is love. And my character's not into hopping into bed. She believes in love. She's grounded and down to earth and traditional and the opposite of everyone else in the movie."

The same could presumably be said of Alba, who has been dating Cash Warren, a director's assistant she met on the set of the first Fantastic Four, for more than a year.

"Yeah, I've had a boyfriend for awhile. I'm not into dating as a sport, although I don't think there's anything wrong with it. I actually encourage it. It's just some people have time for that and other people don't. Personally, work is such a big deal for me, I don't have a lot of time for a lot of silliness."

Maestro doesn't want hotlinking from www.JMAZONE.de.

The following was reported on www.contactmusic.com:

Sexy JESSICA ALBA is missing a tooth after an over-zealous love scene with new movie co-star DANE COOK left her needing dental work. The SIN CITY star was shooting kissing scenes with Cook in new film GOOD LUCK, CHUCK when the couple's teeth clashed. She explains, "I lost a tooth. Isn't that disgusting? Dane and I were smashing our faces together." But Alba's publicist BRAD CAFARELLI is playing down the incident, stating, "She chipped a tooth and it was easily fixed."

You can now download the second part of the E! Daily 10 series as well as an interview that aired on EXTRA on www.jmazone.de.

From this week's People Weekly.
Jessica's Secret: It's All About The Leggings
[image]

We all know that Jessica Alba has an amazing body -- just think about her bikini in Into the Blue and her sexy Versace at last year's Oscars. But just like the rest of us, she likes a little bit of help smoothing out and sucking in all the wobbly parts, and her mysterious nude leggings (at left) give her secret away -- Spanx! In fact, Jessica admits, "I wore SPANX under my Fantastic Four costume. I love them! Spanx are the only thing that smoothes out all of my lumps and bumps." So, yesterday, she paired her delicate sundress with their nude Footless Tights, which can take an entire clothing size off the lower body! She's also ordered the leggings in every color they come in, so expect to see a lot more of Jessica and her Spanx this fall.

Oscar winner Halle Berry, dubbed "The Classic," is No. 2 behind Aniston, and No. 3 was "The Newcomer" Jessica Alba, 25, star of movies like last summer's hit "Fantastic Four." Sporkin said Alba follows more trends and Berry is a master at picking outfits that fit well. In each case, she said the list's stars were highly identifiable to everyday people.

Jessica Alba: 'I Don't Do Nudity'

It's nerves over nakedness, as far as Jessica Alba is concerned.

The 25-year-old actress tells Elle magazine in its November issue that when she was playing a stripper in 2005's Sin City, directors Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez offered her the option to bare all – but she said no way.

"I don't do nudity. I just don't," says Alba, who is currently shooting the movie farce Good Luck Chuck with Dane Cook. "Maybe that makes me a bad actress. Maybe I won't get hired in some things. But I have too much anxiety."

Of the 2005 flare-up in which Playboy magazine published a photo of a bikini-clad Alba on its March cover – suggesting, she claimed, that readers would get a glimpse of all of her inside – Alba now says, "It was against who I am and what I represent. I've been working so hard to be somebody else, and it just wasn't cool."

(The face-off between Alba and Playboy publisher Hugh Hefner ended with his apologizing to her and making an undisclosed donations to two charities Alba supports, Keep A Child Alive and Until There's A Cure, her rep, Brad Cafarelli, told PEOPLE at the time.)

Alba also tells Elle that despite being a longtime Los Angeles resident, she'd like to move to New York to pursue an independent-film career – and spend more time with boyfriend Cash Warren, a former production crew member on Alba's Fantastic Four who is now producing on his own.

But, says Alba, maintaining a personal life in Hollywood is tough. "Just being an actress period, and being in a relationship –I don't recommend it," she says.

ok, not really news ::) but this story has been posted on the internet and it is without a doubt the strangest thing ever written about JA. http://www.actiontrip.com/rei/comments_news.phtml?id=111006_1

Imagine that you were a bug; a bug that could fully comprehend female beauty. Say that for the sake of the argument, you only took the physical form of a bug, but were really a full-blooded male in every other respect. And so you are milling around on this rather comfy couch, chilling in a really great apartment. You listen to the mellow vibes of good jazz on the state-of-the-art music system. The fireplace is keeping the subtly lit room warm as snow is falling outside. The city lights are bright; you are obviously in a penthouse.

The doorbell rings. A good looking guy wearing expensive cologne, the scent of which is only offset by the sweet smell of red wine and strawberries on the table, opens the door.

Jessica Alba walks in. She is relaxed and she takes off her incredibly soft mink coat, revealing a dazzling black outfit underneath. She takes off her shoes and starts dancing on the thick white rug in front of the fireplace.

Now remember, you are a bug.

The guy is getting in the mood as Jessica swings her hips to the smooth sounds, stripping her black dress slowly with her delicate fingers. This is like art only it makes you tingle inside. Jazz fills the space, the snow is still falling.

You are a bug, and by God you're getting in the mood as well.

Jessica picks up the red wine from the table; with your sharp bug eyes, you see a tiny drop of wine going down the corners of her perfect mouth, down her chin and onto her warm bosom.

The guy doesn't notice such details, but he's fixated on her incredible thighs. Like a siren, she dims the thoughts, sounds and smells in the room. This is what happens when a star dies.

Jessica and the guy start dancing; she puts one strawberry in her mouth. Her lips touch the texture of the strawberries as she holds it out with her tongue. A wry smile is breaking out in the corners of her lips. Every bit of her is radiating lust.

Your little bug mind is going fooeying insane.

The flow is perfect and the guy takes the initiative. He grabs Jessica and throws her on the couch. She giggles a little and straightens her right leg in the air. She smiles seductively caressing the expensive satin pillow with her left hand.

And you? The last thing you ever saw was Jessica Alba's ass closing in on your frail bug body. "God, that's beautiful," you uttered as her soft skin crushed your skull, slowly exerting pressure on every single nerve in your body until you died.

That's life, baby. That's life.

Access Hollywood Jessica Alba Voted Favorite Substitute Teacher
by Eric Anderson

LOS ANGELES (November 15, 2006) -- She's dove "Into the Blue." She's lived in "Sin City" and even showed off her "Fantastic" super powers.

But is Jessica Alba ready to try her hand at… substitute teaching?

If the educators of America have anything to say about it, Miss Alba will soon be heading back to school.

In a recent poll conducted by the National Education Association, Jessica was voted the celebrity people would most like to see substitute teach for a day.

Jessica finished with 46 percent of the vote, followed by Oprah Winfrey (23 percent), Angelina Jolie (14 percent), Will Smith (12 percent) and tennis star Andre Agassi (4 percent).

The online poll surveyed more than 5,000 particpants nationwide and was issued as part of NEA's Substitute Educator Day.

Access Hollywoodcaught up with Jessica during a visit to the set of her new film, "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," to get her reaction to the poll results.

"I'm available. That's amazing. Why do they want me to be their substitute teacher?" she laughed. "That's cool. There'd be lots of discussions if I was a substitute teacher. Lots of debating going on."

Jessica recently wrapped producing on "Good Luck Chuck" alongside Dane Cook.

"Just as actress Jessica Alba toiled long and hard before achieving stardom, substitute educators labor tirelessly -- and often in relative anonymity -- to provide every child with a quality public education," NEA president Reg Weaver told Access Hollywood.

I think that the DA Season 2 writers and many fanfic writers and this critic have forgotten how important Michael Weatherly/Logan Cale was to the success of Season 1 and that without that success there would've been no Season 2 or Season 2 characters. I thought that Jessica/Max was generally expected to carry DA on her own.

I think that the DA Season 2 writers and many fanfic writers and this critic have forgotten how important Michael Weatherly/Logan Cale was to the success of Season 1 and that without that success there would've been no Season 2 or Season 2 characters. I agree, the Max/Logan affair carried the show. Too bad it didn't carry over to S2.

Okay so let me clarify what I was saying the other day, I was just over a friend’s place and I was telling his boyfriend (please take notice of those two words) about his ‘I’d do her’ statement regarding JA (not a new statement from him since we used to watch DA together, though now we fight about the MW comment he includes as well :P). That means if Cash was looking at the photogs and not JA there would be something SERIOUSLY wrong with him.

JA is always calm and in control (though occasionally slightly peeved looking) with the photogs hounding her every step. You never hear stories of her hiding out in stores or trying to race away (risking the lives of others), she’s taken the sensible route (since they’ll never leave no matter what she does) in just going about what she’d normally do, it makes sense that Cash would follow her lead. Not to mention they’d just sell more pics if she reacted to them.

Jessica Alba's Sexy Valentine's Day Gift

“Extra” knows what sexy screen siren Jessica Alba is getting from her boyfriend, Cash Warren, this Valentine’s Day! It looks like Cash dropped some major celebrity cash at a Beverly Hills jeweler. Diane Lane and James Franco are in the scene but it's

OK, first of all I just realized ML fan quoted herself and feel she should be teased for this ;D ;D ;D ;) I'm in a hurry though, so I haven't thought of anything :-[ maybe somebody else can chime in :D .

So onto my real reason for posting. JA's appearance on this show is on tonights premiere episodes. They show two half hour episodes back to back. It doesn't premiere for a few hours but clever little me has already seen the first half hour 8-). JA is in it for about 5 minutes at the beginning. She is adorable and beautiful as always [image] .

Getting just as much screen time is Joshua Alba. That's right the one and only Krit [image] shows up towards the end to see the progress on the kitchen and the designer/star of the show practically has an orgasm just from the site of him :o. She apparently thinks he's really hot :-*.

Learned a couple things from this show. First off her parents now live in Los Angeles. They moved to be closer to her ( and I'm guessing closer to Joshua ). Second, Joshua is a father, he says on the show that he has a "7 month old". Him being a father sounds familiar :-/, I can't remember if I already knew that or I think it was JA mention he was "going" to be a father ( and her an Aunt ) but never heard when it happened. Am I making any sense here? ::)

Finally, I just have to give an opinion on the star/designer lady. And that opinion is she needs to be put down >:( and spare the rest of us her fake drama >:( >:( not to mention spare us her racists comments :-X. I mean seriously considering this is pre-taped and not a live show I can't believe they left that in >:(.

OK I'm off to watch the 2nd half hour ep.

If you want they do have a little preview on their website http://www.we.tv/ on the right hand side towards the bottom in the video section the 1st selection is a preview and includes 3 different sections of JA. Whole thing lasts 3 minutes, you see them looking at her parents old kitchen, JA bringing the work crew homemade enchiladas and her parents seeing the kitchen for the first time.

One thing I forgot to mention about the 2nd ep. Joshua/Krit makes another appearance and brings his wife Nicky.

StyleWatch Editors Want to Know: How Much Would You Pay for a Haircut?

We have seen a meteoric rise in price for haircuts in the past several years, sparked by shag goddess Sally Hershberger (think Meg Ryan's iconic cut) and her $350 price tag. We thought that had topped off at Madonna-fave Orlando Pita's $800 fee. But like designer bags, fees for seeing a high-profile stylist seem to have no limit, and celeb stylist Ted Gibson is now setting the jaw-dropping pace for highest price. You're going to have to cough up $950 to get a turn in the same chair in which his celeb clients, like Jessica Albaand Angelina Jolie, entrust him with their tresses. Uh, we think we'll just stick to his much more affordable product line.

Jessica Alba marries four times

JESSICA ALBA knows exactly what she wants for her dream wedding - especially having acted out four this year!

The Sin City star has played a bride in all her most recent films.

But the actress took it on the chin and said: "I'm getting pretty good at the whole wedding thing.

"I seem to be getting married a lot this year. The best one for me is in Fantastic Four 2.

"It's on the top of a building and although it was freezing up there, it was the closest to my own dream wedding."

The Dark Angel star is dating long-term boyfriend (and former co-star) MICHAEL WEATHERLY.

WTF! It's been four years ::).

Anyways she also mentioned this F4 wedding a little in that Enews interview last week. Seems the F4 wedding dress was originally one of the dresses she considered for the 2006 Oscar ceremony. They changed it to white for the movie. They asked if she would wear something like that to a real life wedding and she laughed and said she would never wear something so tight to her own wedding.

Jessica Alba loves making film bosses "kiss her a**".

The 'Sin City' actress admits she enjoys getting revenge on casting bosses who have turned her down for parts in the past.

She revealed to Britain's OK! magazine: "We try so hard at auditions and are rejected so often, so when you get to the point where you can actually get those same people to kiss you're a**, it's really great!"

Jessica, 25, is bombarded with work offers, but admits one of her favourite things to do is turn down roles.

She added: "Do you know what I like? Turning roles down! I think that's my favourite thing. I'm not a snob, but I do love turning jobs down."

One role Jessica didn't turn down is the comic book sequel, 'Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer', due for release later this year.

Getting Serious with Jessica Alba
Categories: set visits, japanese teenagers
No, it's not a new series of personal improvement videos from Jessica Alba. It was just the theme of my set visit to the remake of the Hong Kong horror flick The Eye—with Jessica Alba.

It's no secret that Ms. Honey wants to be taken more seriously. She took acting classes from Felicity Huffman way back when. She recently pregnant doged about getting too many offers to play the Biker Chick. "Somehow, I don't think this is happening to Natalie Portman," was the exact quote.

Love it. Hate that she has to fight, though. I mean Halle Berry did B.A.P.S. and Boomerang on her road to Oscar. Is it really such a man's world that a few Maxim covers can ruin your chances for Portman-style roles?

Nonetheless, active seriousness makes me feel silly. So here are some serious notes from my serious day on the serious set of the serious Eye, directed by David Moreau and Xavier Palud.

Jessica Is in Awe of Blind People: Alba opened up about how The Eye has changed the way she looks at blindness: "Now, I look for braille everywhere," she tells me. "People who are blind can function in the world like everybody else. And I always thought if you were blind that you couldn't really do whatever anyone else does. And they do everything."

Food Is Seriously Tasty: I give props to Alba for eating a cheeseburger and fries while being interviewed by nine guy journalists and yours truly. And she's not a Lindsay Lohan-Nicole Richie dehydrated, yo-yo weight girl who needs to performance eat. One of my reporter buddies boldly asked for a fry. She said yes. We took a picture of the plate. We laughed that we will sell the fries on eBay. We didn't.

Wait. This is serious. Must. Stay. Serious.

Violins Are Serious. Wet T-shirts, Eh, Not So Much: Again, I wish Alba didn't feel compelled to sort of defend her choices. But she did.

"It's a lot more interesting for me to play someone who is blind and a classical violin player than someone, you know, running around in a wet T-shirt."

Of course, then our largely male group of journalists was brought to visit the set to watch a scene in which she gets out of a cab—in the rain. Of course it wasn't that kind of scene, but still. I get why she's sensitive.

Violins Are Also a Serious Pain: "It's impossible," Jessica railed, when asked about learning the instrument. "It was absolutely bulls--t. Music that I'm playing is music that people are playing after university, people who have been playing since they were five." I'm so happy I'm not an actress, I swear.

The Ten Looks Seriously Funny: Jess didn't talk about her work on the comedy from the makers of Wet Hot American Summer, but word on the street is that it's good. It's a huge ensemble, with hubba-hubba Paul Rudd and Winona Ryder. And I'm serious when I say that this is a seriously good move for Jessica. I would like to see her do more funny-but-serious work—you agree?

From msn.com

April 4, 2007

It's a chilly Saturday afternoon in downtown Los Angeles on the roof of the chic Standard Hotel, but Jessica Alba has taken some time out from wrapping her upcoming production, "The Eye," to speak to the press. Alba looks a bit dour, but that may just be a reflection of the difficult role she jumped into.

An American adaptation of the 2002 Hong Kong horror movie "Jian Gui" (or translated, "The Eye"), Alba's new movie finds her playing a blind woman whose sight is restored after a cornea transplant. Unfortunately, with her new vision also comes the traumatic power to see the supernatural. Obviously a bit freaked out, she tries to determine the history of her new eye's previous owner. The original "Eye" creators, the Pang brothers, are currently working on their first U.S. flick, "The Messengers." Therefore, directors David Moreau and Xavier Palud, the duo behind the critically acclaimed French thriller "Ils," are helming this American remake. Tom Cruise (yes, that Cruise, and no, he wasn't at the press talk) and Paula Wagner are producing the flick and have smartly surrounded Alba with intriguing co-stars Parker Posey and Alessandro Nivola, both indie film veterans.

Alba hasn't been on-screen since summer 2005 when she had the mega-hit "Fantastic Four," followed by the bikini-fest adventure "Into the Blue." She's wrapped four major projects since then, but the "Fantastic" sequel, "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," will beat all of them into theaters. It's clear that with "The Eye" she feels her directors are adding something special to her filmography.

"I wanted to do something that was classy, that transcended the genre, hopefully," Alba says." [Moreau and Palud] want to make this more than just a horror movie they could to take their girlfriend[s] to. It's really going to look beautiful and different. And it's more of a psychological thriller than just a horror movie. There are just not a lot of movies that star women that are smart and really tell the story through her eyes."

Alba heavily prepared for her role, but found the musical requirements much harder than she originally anticipated.

"I've learned how to adjust and live as someone who is blind and there are a lot of anxieties that go with that," Alba says. "But then, also having to play a classical violinist is impossible, pretty much. [They have] me playing Beethoven and Mozart -- it's not simple 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.' It's really complicated, beautiful music."

Still, Alba is hoping her fans appreciate her latest role, even if it means she's not wearing anything too revealing in it.

"It's a beautiful story of this girl's journey and getting her sight and dealing with never having it, gaining it and then losing her sanity. It just happens to be wrapped up in a horror movie," Alba says. "I think that's just much more interesting than just playing something like running around in a white T-shirt assaulting people."

All is forgiven as long as you promise to go skimpy in "Sin City 2," Jessica.

JA and her Fantastic 4 costars will be making a public appearance in Australia.

From Sydney Confidential
April 19, 2007 01:00am

THE film is called the Fantastic Four, but one of its stars will cause the real sensation when she hits Sydney in two weeks time.

Yes, fantastic is a term commonly used to describe Hollywood hottie Jessica Alba and if you ask any Australian male, chances are they'll be quick to drop an assortment of other impassioned adjectives too.

Along with her co-stars Julian McMahon, Ioan Gruffudd and Michael Chiklis, Alba will be flying into town to promote the latest instalment of the superhero family franchise - Fantastic Four, Rise of the Silver Surfer.

On May 2, the awesome foursome will be assembling at the Entertainment Quarter to showcase some exclusive "first look" footage from their forthcoming film, which is not due for release until June 21.

An exclusive red carpet event and party will follow the screening, held to coincide with the opening of the new Will and Toby's Taylor Square, the Live Supper Club and Lounge Bar.

Fantastic? Thought so.

Here is a quote from JA on her signing with Revlon. Quote is from a company press release.

"I'm honored to be joining the Revlon family," says Jessica Alba. "Revlon celebrates diverse, dynamic women of every walk of life and I'm proud to be associated with a company that is so involved with women's causes and issues."
